Fundraising Audit

What is it?A fundraising audit is an internal document which provides information and data on your performance, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. It includes marketing research and gives detailed information on where you could focus your identified resources and any particularly strong or potentially strong income streams.

Why do you need an audit?
A strategy without an audit would not be based on evidence and is therefore unlikely to be achievable.

For example, if the audit identified that grants were an opportunity but the strategy did not include grants as an income stream, your organisation could miss out on funding. Or equally, if a large part of your strategy focused on major gifts and this was not a suitable focus given your resources, you would invest your resource on an income stream which is unlikely to be successful.
